Terms & conditions

The rules for using LearningKid — what you can expect from us, and what we need from you. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

1. This agreement

These terms are between you and LearningKid (“we”, “us”). They apply whenever you use learningkid.com, buy a course, or publish one as an educator. By creating an account you accept them.

If you are using LearningKid on behalf of a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and that you accept these terms for them.

2. Accounts and child profiles

An account belongs to an adult aged 18 or over. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account.

Child profiles are labels on your account, not separate logins. Children do not receive their own credentials, cannot message anyone, and cannot make a purchase. You may hold up to five child profiles on one account.

We may suspend an account that is being used to share paid content, to abuse other users, or in breach of these terms.

3. Buying a course

Prices are shown in Indian rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to watch that course on your own account, for as long as it remains on the platform.

Buying a course is not a subscription. Nothing renews automatically, and we will never charge a card again without a new, explicit purchase.

Access is for your household. Sharing an account so that people outside it can watch a paid course is a breach of these terms.

4. Refunds

You can request a refund from your orders page within 7 days of purchase, provided you have watched less than 20% of the course. Those refunds are processed automatically and returned to the original payment method, typically within 5–7 working days.

Outside that window, write to us. If a course is materially not as described, if its videos do not play, or if it is removed from the platform shortly after you bought it, we will refund you regardless of how much was watched.

Refunds are reversed against the educator's earnings for that sale, including any payout already scheduled.

5. Course content and its owners

Educators own what they publish. They grant us a licence to host, transcode, caption and stream it to the people who bought it, and to show excerpts and previews for marketing.

You may not download, record, re-upload or redistribute course video, and you may not strip or circumvent the measures that protect it. Downloading a resource file that an educator has provided for that purpose is, of course, fine.

6. If you teach here

Educators apply, are reviewed by a person, and can publish only once approved. Every course is reviewed again before it goes live, and can be sent back with notes.

You confirm that everything you publish is yours to publish, and that it is:

  • accurate, and appropriate for the age band you have set;
  • free of advertising, sponsorship and links out to paid offers of your own;
  • captioned — publishing is blocked without captions on every video lesson.

You keep 80% of the net value of each sale. Payouts are calculated per period, after refunds and platform fees, and are paid to the bank or UPI details on your educator profile. We may withhold a payout where a chargeback, a refund dispute or a suspected breach of these terms is unresolved.

We may unlist or take down a course or an article that breaches these terms. Where that happens, existing learners keep the access they paid for wherever we reasonably can.

7. Reviews, questions and responses

Reviews, course questions and blog responses are yours, and you grant us a licence to display them on the platform. Keep them about the material.

We remove content that is abusive, hateful, sexual, commercial spam, a privacy breach, or directed at a child. Moderators can hide a response, and an author can remove responses on their own article. Repeated breaches cost the account.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep LearningKid available and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change, add or remove features, and we may update these terms.

If a change to these terms materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use LearningKid after that means you accept the new terms.

9. Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim relating to LearningKid is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Courses are educational material, not professional advice. Adults should supervise any activity that involves tools, heat, chemicals or the outdoors.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except that we may bring proceedings to protect our intellectual property wherever an infringement occurs.

Our handling of your personal information is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
